(1) Unfold the tripod and adjust the height.
(2) The equatorial mount is connected to the tripod stand.
(3) Install the heavy hammer rod and the lens barrel ring.
(4) Tighten the right ascension and declination fixing buttons, and install the lens barrel and weight.
(5) Balance of right ascension and declination. Adjust the position and quantity of the weight to balance the right ascension axis, loosen the lens barrel ring, and adjust the position of the lens barrel to balance the declination axis. Two-axis balance is very important, otherwise the light one will affect the tracking accuracy, and the heavy one will damage the internal gear elements of the instrument.
(6) Connect the tracking motor controller and power supply.
Main finder mirror coaxial adjustment
After the telescope is installed, it is necessary to adjust the coaxiality of the finder mirror and the main mirror.
(1) Install a low-power eyepiece on the main mirror, and adjust it to the center of the field of vision for distant targets (such as buildings, water towers, trees, etc.).
(2) Adjust the fixing screws (usually 3) on the finder mirror bracket to make the main mirror align with the target, and it can also be positioned at the intersection of the finder mirror.
(3) Check the primary mirror, if the target is deviated, readjust it to the center of the field of view, and then adjust the finder mirror. Repeat the above process until the center of the primary mirror and the finder mirror are coincident with no deviation.
After the main finder mirror is coaxial, it is very convenient to find celestial objects. First, use the finder to adjust the telescope to the general direction of the target, and then fine-tune the celestial target to introduce it into the eyepiece field of view.
Binoculars Recommendations
To observe nebula clusters, you can observe from small binoculars. But observers often instinctively hold their breath and remain still, resulting in brain hypoxia, which affects the effect of observation. Therefore, it is also very important to keep the body relaxed and breathing naturally and smoothly.
When using a telescope, turn the focuser handwheel slightly to focus. The force should be uniform, the speed should not be too fast, and do not continue to turn the handwheel after reaching the stroke, so as not to damage the focuser. If the canopy is retractable, pull it out.
After using the telescope, please cover the lens cover and the back cover of the eyepiece holder to prevent dust from entering. Put away accessories such as eyepieces and finderscopes, and put telescopes, equatorial mounts, theodolites, and accessories in a custom-made aluminum box with pads as much as possible for easy transportation and storage.
